How To Write A Product Review
According to Webopedia: “In electronic commerce, product reviews are used on shopping sites to give customers an opportunity to rate and comment on products they have purchased, right on the product page. Other consumers can read these when making a purchase decision. Often, the company will include a URL on printed literature or e-mail marketing to invite customers to review their service after a transaction has been completed.”
A well written product review can help drive traffic to your home business website. People are always looking for experienced, impartial opinions on a product or service they may be considering purchasing. The first step to writing a good review is to choose a product you have considerable experience using and on which you are able to offer an objective, unbiased view of its performance. Your review isn’t a sales pitch and it shouldn’t come across as such or your opinion will offer very little in the way of value to your readers.
Once you have settled on a product to review and before you take pen to paper or finger to keyboard you must continually remind yourself that you are writing for the reader. Someone is going to make a buying decision based on your advice and your experiences and they are depending on your unbiased and independent analysis in order to do so. So you should always tailor your review with this in mind.
Next, you have to consider the product itself? What does it do, and what does it claim to do? How well does it meet or exceed these claims. What are the expectations of the reader as far as the product is concerned? Does the product meet the reader’s needs? Is the product a good value for the cost? To answer these questions properly when using the merchandise you need to pay attention not only to what it does but also pay attention to what it doesn’t do.
Once you’ve made these determinations it’s now time to document your results. There are typically two types of reviews. There’s a comparative review where you compare your product to several others in the marketplace making the same claims and decide which one best solves the problem. The other type is a stand alone analysis in which you determine whether or not this product does what it claims to do and whether or not it’s a good value.
You begin your article with your introductory paragraph, which of course, is intended to grab your reader’s attention and gives them an idea of what’s going to follow. The following paragraphs will then go into detail about what the product does and doesn’t do and how well it keeps its promises. You can then detail what you like about the item and what you don’t like.
You’re then ready for your conclusion. State in no uncertain terms whether or not the product is a good value and whether or not it will meet the reader’s expectations and solve their problem. If you like it tell them why and if you don’t like it tell them why not.
Armed with this information you should be able to produce an impartial and analytical critique of any product or service you’ve experienced or would like to experience. These reviews can also drive targeted traffic to your home business website and help you get viewed as an expert in the particular field of choice.

This is my new Blog and having been away from it for a couple of years it’s great to be back because I really enjoy it. Just to tell you something about myself, my wife and I are currently working with Autistic adults in the state of Maine and we love it. Although we’re from Canada, originally from Newfoundland, this is our second stint working in Maine and the two men we are working with this time around are great. We’ve become very attached to these young men and we consider ourselves to be a family. Actually our job title is that of Therapeutic Foster Parents and of course we take it very seriously. One of the main reasons we take it so seriously is that we are advocates for these young men because at times they can’t speak for themselves.
The sad part about our job here in Maine is that we have to leave the country after 18 months. The reason for this being the company who hired us and sponsored us into the US could only get us into the country by way of a Training Visa with the main condition being we have to leave after 18 months. We were here under the same circumstances in 2007 and had to leave the guys we were caring for at that time at the end of 2008.
This of course was very difficult for the three men we were working with and living with at the time and it was also very difficult for us because we became very attached and as I mentioned earlier we became a family. One of the main benefits of coming back is that we get to see the guys we worked with on our first visit and we also get to do what we enjoy which is caring for and helping these young men.
Because of our love for what we do and for the people we work with I will be dedicating a Page on this website to Autism and to the people who live with it on a daily basis. I’m hoping this will help educate people who aren’t familiar with what is fast becoming a global concern and help to raise funds for research.
The other objective of this website is to offer Home Business advice and present opportunities to people who are interested in making a legitimate living by working from home.
I’m hoping to have a great deal of relevant content added soon and I hope people will make it a point to visit often. Thank you for visiting and for taking the time to read this information.
The following two videos should give you some idea of the majestic beauty of Newfoundland:
I’ve added a video below, one of which is actually an advertisement by a local brewery located in St. John’s, Newfoundland which is where I’m from. But it contains some great shots of the area and I like to think portrays what we, as Newfoundlanders, are all about: People who care about people, who work hard and play hard but aren’t afraid to laugh at ourselves. In the following videos you will see many examples of this outlook on life as portrayed by local entertainers performing at what we call “Kitchen Parties”.
These are events where neighbours come together to have a few drinks and entertain one another through song and dance. Please take the time to have a look.
