This is my new Blog and having been away from\u00a0Blogging for a couple of years it’s great to be back because I really enjoy it. Just\u00a0 to tell you something about myself; my wife and I are currently working with Autistic adults in the state of Maine and we love it. Although we’re from Canada, originally from Newfoundland, this is our second stint working in Maine and the two men we are working with this time around are great. We’ve\u00a0 become very attached to these young men and we consider ourselves to be a family.\u00a0 Actually our job title is that of Therapeutic Foster Parents and of course we take it very seriously. One of the main reasons we take it so seriously is that we are advocates for these young men because at times they can’t speak for themselves.<\/p>\n

The sad part about our job here in Maine is that we have to leave the country after 18 months. The reason for this being the company who hired us and sponsored us into the US could only get us into the country by way of a Training Visa with the main condition being we have to leave after 18 months. We were here under the same circumstances in 2007 and had to leave the guys we were caring for at that time at the end of 2008.<\/p>\n

This of course was very difficult for the three men we were working with and living with at the time and it was also very difficult for us because we became very attached and as I mentioned earlier we became a family. One of the main benefits of coming back is that we get to see the guys we worked with on our first visit and we\u00a0 also get to do what we enjoy which is caring for and helping these young men.<\/p>\n

Because of our love for what we do and for the people we work with I will be dedicating a Page on this website to Autism<\/a> and to the people who live with it on a daily basis. I’m hoping this will help educate people who aren’t familiar with what is fast becoming a global concern and help to raise funds for research.<\/p>\n

The other objective of this website is to offer Home Business advice<\/a> and present opportunities to people who are interested in making\u00a0 a legitimate living by working from home.<\/p>\n

I’m hoping to have a great deal of relevant content added soon and I hope people will make it a point to visit often. Thank you for visiting and for taking the time to read this information.<\/p>\n

How To Choose A Home Based Business<\/a><\/p>\n

The biggest challenge facing anyone today who is interested in starting their own home based business <\/a>is choosing from the plethora of opportunities or so called opportunities available online.<\/p>\n

But before you begin to sift through the glut of potential prospects on the Web I would advise you to ask yourself the following questions:<\/p>\n

1. What are your interests and what would you enjoy doing?<\/p>\n

There isn’t much point in deciding to do something you aren’t going to enjoy. It would seem too much like a regular job and not something you would look forward to doing every day. You will have a much better chance of succeeding if you enjoy what you are doing. I would suggest sitting down with pen and paper and making a list of what you would enjoy doing and tailoring your search based on this criteria.<\/p>\n

2. Are you planning to supplement your current income or are you looking for a full time job?<\/p>\n

As I mentioned there are many home based business ideas <\/a>out there. Some are more attractive than others and have, potentially, a better probability of turning into a full time income. I approached every idea available as though it would become a full time salary, but only in time. It would, of course, start out as any business does with realistic expectations income wise early on and grow from there. With your hard work and further investment of not only time but money it can turn into a full time situation. As with any business you reap what you sow. And this leads to what may be the biggest question of all.<\/p>\n

3. How much money do you have to invest in your business?<\/p>\n

Not only your initial outlay but for the first year of operation as well. This determination will cut down on some of the available choices as well because some require more of an investment than others.<\/p>\n

4. One final question I asked myself was whether or not I was going to become involved in network marketing or an MLM operation or become involved with a so called more traditional home business.<\/p>\n

Because of the power of the internet to attract so many potential customers it would be very difficult to say no I am sticking with a traditional out of my home type operation. There are so many ways to attract clients online that I believe it would be detrimental to your ultimate success as a business owner to ignore the World Wide Web entirely.<\/p>\n

I decided upon a combination of the two. A mix of the more traditional pre-internet advertising with the more up to date technological approach to marketing.<\/p>\n
